CHEAPER IS NEVER BETTER!

Especially when it comes to Waterproofing, check the project we had to remediate at Sydney University. Our first site visit 03/07/18 - Note the water pooling

Report: Madsen Building Roof

The previous installer has broken several waterproofing codes of practice.

Full Spec Group was out priced by a competitor, we stated we would remove the existing membrane back to the sub floor. Our competitor decided to torch membrane directly on top of the existing membrane. Our second site visit 26/08/19 - Note the water pooling in the same place.

Layer one

On our first inspection found the existing membrane peeling up like carpet.

Water was present under the membrane.

Layer two

After the existing membrane was removed, we found another two-layer system underneath.

Water was present under the membrane.

Layer three

In the process of removing the second two-layer system, we found another two-layer system underneath.

Water was present under the membrane.

The existing membrane peeling up like carpet.

After the existing membrane was removed, we found another two-layer system underneath.

In the process of removing the second two-layer system, we found another two-layer system underneath. This means there was a torch on system installed then a second torch on system installed on top of the original.

Three sets of Torch on membrane remove

Plant Room

The gutter channel – Two-layer torch on system was installed; the sub floor was not correctly cleaned and sealed.

Half the floor had Liquid membrane installed and went over the torch on membrane.
